Diving Medicals can only to be conducted by a Doctor who has had the approved training to medically examine recreational and occupational divers.
Dr John Kenafake has been a diver for over 35 years, and holds a Diploma of Advanced Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine from Royal Adelaide Hospital.
He’s also a qualified Dive Master and a Member of SPUMS (South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society).

Which Test for You?
There are two types of Diving Medicals Examinations – Recreational (AS4005.1) and Commercial (AS2299.1). Either takes around 45 minutes.

What's Involved?
The test includes hearing and eyesight tests, urine test, lung function test, taking blood pressure and height and weight.

Other Requirements.
The Dive Medical is completed with the patient completing a medical questionnaire. You may also need to have a chest X-ray.
